2008 US Kiteboarding Nationals

First day of racing saw strong shifty winds, 20+ to very little, about 13. Most were using 14s and 12s with some 10s.  The level of competitive has definitely been stepped up from a year ago and from most races around the world. Five of the 6 planned races were completed with 5 different racers winning one race. Mike Gebhart, Sky Solbach, Damien LeRoy, Shawn Richman and Sean Farley all crossed the finish line first. In the closest race of the day, Sky Solbach nipped Damien Leroy at the finish by about a foot.
